Noemí Luz Flamenco Group
The outstanding Noemí Luz Flamenco Group make their debut at The Flamenco Mix, performing another thrilling evening of dance.
Noemí has assembled a talented group of musicians to create a unique evening of flamenco that pays homage to tradition while embracing dialogue between cultures. Guitarist Bryan Reyes and singer Carlos de Luisa will accompany her with playful, nostalgic, and colourful sounds and images.
A flamenco dance artist based between Spain and the UK whose work spans traditional, contemporary, and experimental flamenco dance theatre, Noemí works with both traditional and experimental flamenco, as well as dance theatre and performance, and values a multidisciplinary approach to creating and strives to produce work that challenges common perceptions of what flamenco and dance can be.
Noemí received six years of traditional flamenco training in Seville under her mentor Yolanda Heredia. She also underwent classical training at the Central School of Ballet and the Elmhurst Ballet School in the United Kingdom.
Noemí has also performed at numerous traditional flamenco venues in Spain, such as Peña Flamenca La Perla de Cadiz, Tablao Arenal, Casa de la Guitarra, Café Zyriab, and the CAAC, Seville.
Sadler's Wells and Teatro de la Maestranza de Sevilla, as well as festivals like Flamenco y Mestizos (Madrid), Huellas Danza (Huelva), Dancenet Sweden, Buxton International Arts Festival, and Dartington Arts (UK), have all featured her contemporary works.
